![]() That's where I found the second tutorial, it specifically mentions that error and explains the steps for how to reinstall grub after the error. After that of course, linux was installed but grub was not installed and therefore linux would not boot for the next powerup. I always got the “grub-efi-ia32 package failed to install to target” error towards the end of the install regardless of the distro or the version I tried to install. First off, here are links to the tutorials I cobbled first tutorial seems to work for many people, but never quite worked for me. I'm not an expert but I was able to eventually figure things out after following parts of three different tutorials I found. I'm just hoping these ramblings can help someone else because I spent a lot of time over 3 days trying to get things running just for kicks. ![]() In fact, I don't even recommend trying this, just put linux on your laptop or your desktop like a normal human.
